Did Oxford conduct a background check (e.g. calling your company to verify employment...etc) after you are admitted?

I'm not aware of anything of background check. I think it is very unlikely unless they are suspecious of something.

It's great to have mentor here. I am working in foreign bank, and part of work is in HK.

Can I say working in HK is an international exposure? since international exposure is pretty

important.

I think it's ok to say that working in HK gives you international exposure. Reinforce your point by emphasizing e.g.an international client base etc. anything your work involved in an international context.

Good luck!

Hi avy,

Thanks for taking time out of busy schedule to answer all these questions. Do you know what portion of students received financial aid in the program? I am PR China citizen but US permanent resident. And how valuable is the career service in Oxford? How important is the college choice? What if both colleges you choose are full?

Thanks

doudou

Hey Doudou.

Unfortunately the decision to award financial aid is really random, very much depends on if your interviewer has the right to give out money. E.g. if you interview with the director of the MBA program, you will have good chance to get money if you perform well in the interview. It's unfair I know, but it's the reality, at least for this year.

Career service is really helpful and work hard to support students, however, in the end nobody can get an job for you except yourself.

MBA students don't have too much time to spend in the college, but some people still think it's important, for me not so important. If the colleges you choose were full, you always have chance to choose another one, so no worry.

Cheers, avy

Hi Avy,

Hi Avy,
thanks for you answers helping us know a lot of oxford. I have a question.
How about the chances of a student with a low GPA <3, if he has a high GMAT 700+ and 9 years consulting experiences in Fotune 500 to get in?

Hi Avy,

Thank you for your patience to answer all the questions. It's definitely helpful~

I applied for the Master of Financial Economices, and yesterday I just got the opportunity to have the in-person interview in May. But now I have no idea about how to prepare for the interview...Can you please give me some suggestions on how to well prepare it?

Also I have some questionsIn Chinese, coz I am not sure whether I could express it clearly in English~^_^~ )
