题目是agree or disagree: 20 years from now, students are no longer using the printed books. Recently, a hot debate rises over whether students will no longer use printed books in 20 years or not. When facing this problem, different hold various opinions due to their distinct backgrounds and experiences. Some people advocated enthusiastically that this situation will happen sooner or later, whereas others are skeptical about it, As far as I concern, in general, printed books will not be eliminated from the society. Admittedly, as our technology has improved significantly within these years, printed books are replaced to some extents, such as reading on Internet, viewing articles on your mobile phone and so on. Especially among youngsters, it is prevalent. Of course, it is more convenient to read in these ways, for printed books are so heavy that you can not take it along with you. On the other hand, printed books can not be well preserved in a long time. In this aspect, it seems that the printed books should be moved away from our shelves within a short time. However, the advantages of the printed books far outweigh its disadvantages. Hardly can one absorb real knowledge and expertise if he only read essays and passages in other ways. Printed books offer a real insight into author's thinking and mind. We can truly and wholly understand what the author really wants to tell us. In my view, this is impossible when you read the content on Internet. Or we can say, not only the words are printed on the paper, but also the ideas are also on the paper. Moreover, printed books are precious treasure that we leave for our offspring. I reckon that our children don't intend to inherit a computer or a mobile from us. Few things can pass the knowledge to the extent that the printed books do. The experiences and expertise, for thousands of years, are passed down through the printed books. To some degree .we can say our civilization is based on the printed books. If printed books no longer exist in the world, not much to our surprise, our society will be ruined quickly. Undoubtedly, the printed books eclipse all other means in transmitting knowledge in importance. To sum it up, for what have been discussed above, although the printed books do have some defects, considering the merits they have, we safely draw a conclusion that the printed should or must exist in our world for ever. Otherwise, in my opinion, our spirit and civilization will fade away gradually. |
