173. It is sometimes said that borrowing money from a friend can harm or damage the friendship. Do you agree? Why or why not? Use reasons and specific examples to explain your answer.

 

 

It is sometimes really a problem when a good friend borrows some money from you, especially you have the experience that you are cheated by someone for money. As a result, some people just reject any acquisition of money from any people, including their best friend. However, in my point of view, things are not that worse.

To begin with, before you lend some money to others, you must figure out why your friend ask you for money, do they suffer from a emergency? Or do they have some difficulty in their life? Or just for fun? Paying some time in such simple inquiry saves a lot unnecessary troubles both of you and your friend. As you can just judge whether it is unavoidable to spend the money if you yourself is your friend, if you think your friend is truly in real need of money and if the situation occurs to you and you will still ask money from your friend, then you may lend some money to your friend, just like the old saying goes, a friend in need is a friend indeed.

Furthermore, even if you decide not to lend any money to your friend, it will still damage the friendship. As a matter of fact, to build a good relationship with somebody and eventually make him or her to be your true friend is a very hard yet time-consuming issue. As happens to anybody, when you and your friend have quarrels with each other, it can sometimes takes a  very long time to make up the relationship, so, in the same way, a friend  who may just has no idea to cheat you can be really hurt when you treat him as a thief, especially when he turn to you for help is just because he treat you as his best friend.

Finally, there are some ways to avoid the otherwise unhappy curriculums happen. To make a agreement between you and your friend may be a good way. As the agreement has a law effect, anybody who disobeys the agreement will inevitably break the law. Also ,as a friend of others, you have the responsibility to remind your friend to make good use of the money, thus he may treasure the money you lend him even stronger, which really strengthen the  friendship between you and your friend.

In conclusion, it is, but not the best the way to save your friendship with somebody simply by refuse the acquisition of money of your friend, to better solve the problem, a good agreement and some suggestions may just as the effective medicine to build up the friendship.
