Oooops, sorry for bolei that you could not make the journey to London.

As opposed to your bad luck, we, all the P1 and P4 greater China students went to picnic in the fantastic Chateau besides Rue Grande this noon. We picked up a spot besides the branch of Seine river (we guessed so)and had so much fun together. Each of us brought food, drinks and even dessert. Karen (Jiang) brought her home-made sandwich that tasted so good that I could not eat polite any more. Obviously she knows more than financial valuation now. Lol. One thing I particularly like about INSEAD is the people. Everybody has dazzling academic record or work experience (except me) but nobody brags about it. Most of them are open-minded, highly mobile and adventurous. Of course the Chinese students I saw today are very much the same, or even more approachable. That's part of our gene.

We discovered a kinda romantic story during the picnic. We found one Taiwanese student met his wife when they were both only 2 and the moment they held hands together got permanently recorded by a photo the student's mother took over 30 years ago. They did not know that they had such a sweet memory together until one day they went to see the guy's mother and his mother took out the magic photo. Now the romance is well preserved in the wife's perse and they bring it wherever they go.

Right, continously challenge the potential and enhance one's ability!

But relax sometimes.

well, i'm always open to questions...

whoever likes to ask about insead...go ahead.  i cannot guarantee that you will get the most politically correct answer...and yet at the same time, i cannot give too much away given who i'm working for right now.

haha

bolei, just curious, what's your occupation and who you are working for?  It sounds so mysterious.

BTW, which yr did you graduate from Insead?

He graduated from INSEAD in 2006 and is now working for a non-profit. Bolei, can I say it's non-profit? lol.

Check out the photos we took in the picnic.

thanks for sharing, inseadsh. Seemed that lots of MM there

And bolei, did we meet on the World MBA Tour last week at Shanghai?

On the INSEAD booth, I talked with Ms Karla (pretty girl as well)
from the admissions group, and an alumni graduated from the Fonty
one year ago. Both very very nice people.

以下是引用bolei在2007-9-15 16:25:00的发言:
If you think P1 is bad, wait till you get to P2.  All hell breaks loose...

And yes, the consultants are usually good with the slides.  The bankers with the excel.

I have to disagree with stringscn.  Success does not equate with busyness.  Just need to be smart about it.  People measure success differently.

Life after INSEAD is never going to be the same.  It is THE experience of a lifetime.  Hop on it and enjoy the ride as much as you can.  The only time in life that you can explore those that you have never tried before, in a friendly, nice and relaxed environment, The only time in life that you can choose to forget about that job and its responsibilites waiting for you when you graduate.

People in general, like to taught to have a vision, to look far ahead.  I agree, but remember to cherish the present, especially in the case of INSEAD.  If you have looked beyond INSEAD, then you will miss what INSEAD is all about.  There's a reason why majority of INSEAD alumni are friendly and can gather together every year post graduation.  My year just had it in September over in London.  Too bad that I was not able to attend...

I second your every point here... what I want to say is that you have to learn to cherish the present by yourself -- never wait and expect the external environment to change, enabling you to relax and enjoy...

and after 3 weeks, we are all kind of finding out our ways to prioritize and balance our time.  Went to my buddy's house with several P1s last night and I agree that our seniors here all enjoy the ride very much!  :-)

I regret missing the picnic this Sat.   But my trip to Belgium is also fantastic!

Let me initiate another gathering this weekend or next (It's autumn moon festival next Tue.!)

Yes, one thing funny is most of the Chinese guys here are married whereas most of the girls are still available.  If you are single and willing to explore other opportunities in your program, come here.
