you mentioned earlier that it's not easy (or common) for Chinese graduates to find a consulting job in Europe, but there are plenty of industry jobs. Could you specify what those jobs are? what kind of position are normally available for Chinese MBA graduates, who doesn't speak much French?
Thanks in advance.
If someone else has answer to the question, your reply will be greatly appreciated! If you are looking for an industry job in France and don't speak French, then there are no jobs for you. Regardless of which European country you are considering, for whatever types of jobs (industry, consulting or banking), it's important for you to know the local language - unless you are considering a job in a country that uses English as a commercial language, ie, Netherlands and Switzerland. I have been offered, or close to getting an offer, in those countries without knowing how to speak Dutch or German or French or Italian. But I think this is possible because both Netherlands and Switzerland uses English as one of the official/commercial languages. In my year and previous, there are a few instances where Chinese students found consulting jobs in France. One was with the new Paris office of McKinsey Asia house, and the other two were with a well known local French consulting company. In the firs case, the student underwent intensive French training anyway before starting the job (and this is after he passed his French 3rd language test at INSEAD). Hope this helps. |
