看这个句子: there is little water and few services available, 谓语动词由靠近的water决定,所以is. 但是,实际英语中,are也是可以的,而gmat更提倡靠近原则.

Thanks!  But still have some confusion.

According to what has been presented in OG's explanation " Also, since water and services are being discussed as a pair, they should logically be treated as a compound subject requiring a plural verb; thus, the singular verbs exists (in B and C) and is (in D) are wrong. "

Then the " is " in Choice D is wrong.??  Even though Choice D can be eliminated by another err: little services.
