Dating from the prehistory time, being honest is the perpetual virtue in our human society. Unexaggerated speaking, it is the honesty that is the fundamental principle that direct our human world development. However, dose it means that there is no time when lying is acceptable? The answer is irrefutably no. On the contrary, there are some particular occasions when people should lie rather than tell the truth on the purpose to gain a more complete and satisfying result. In order to make this point more easily to be acceptable, I will discuss it in detail.

 

"You have nothing in serious and you will be recovered very quickly in the following days" these words are fairly ubiquitous in the hospital wards, when the nurses talk to their patients. As a matter of fact, there are many times the patients the nurses tell these words to are invariably in bad situations. Nevertheless, the nurses make such a kind lie in order to calm the patient and assist them to construct the strong self-confidence to fighting with the diseases. We can hardly imagine that if the nurses tell whatever the truth to the patients, the result of which would to a large extent go to another extreme. Consequently, via the kind lies, both the nurses and the patients will have more chance to gain their expected result. The former will success in saving another more life, which is their eternal duty while the later will indubitably treasure more of their lives.

 

Equal to the situation mentioned above is when one is trying to protect his/herself from potential dangers both physically and mentally. With the drastic globalization in the world, people should keep in mind the strong idea of self protecting. That is to say, when contacting with others, one should not pour all of the individual information to others, even the ones that you know much more about. The list will be endless if we try to make a inventory of such situations. When you surfing the internet or join in a club, filling an information blanket is always the first process. In this case, what you should do is being proper conservative to others; especially not careless to tell your private address and the total income, shunning the owner of your information doing something illegally.

 

Admittedly, notwithstanding in our modern society, there are some specific cases that one is expected to lie, he/she should not have the habit to lie or deem it as a trick. In fact, seemingly sometimes we disguise the fact or ourselves to others, the core of which is also that we have a kind heart to protect ourselves or others surrounding us.

 

By and large, in most cases, telling the truth is the immutable cipher to succeed in our career while for some kind reasons it is inevitable for us to lie to others.
