topic：It is important to know every event happening around the world even if it is unlike to have any effect on your daily life.

Television, radio and internet are all contemporary tools to achieve information nowadays. It seems that there is no need to discuss the importance of information in this society, since the amount of information that a country achieves has become one of the significant presentation whether a country is strong enough. However, does every event happening round the world is worth knowing? Different people tend to have distinct opinions. Some may think that the more information the better, while some disagree. In my pinion, we have to learn how to select the useful information rather than knowing each piece of news.

 It is sure that the information has played a very important role in our society. It seems to be a common phenomenon that what people firstly do in the morning is to turn on their television or connect to the internet to see news happened everywhere. They want to gather news that are useful to their lives. Some people may want to read something interesting that can be the topics in the communication among colleagues, while some search for news that can be an important influence to their companies. In a nutshell, every one wants to achieve as much information as he or she can. 

 However, there is too much information in this world. One can not use all of his time in searching for information. What's more, some of the information is useless. How can we select the information that is useful to us? For example, internet is one of the important tools that we gather information in this contemporary society. Everyday when we hook up to the internet and click the mouse, floods of information will be in front of us. Firstly, we should be clear what our goals are and what we want to know, national or international news? At this time, the searching engine will always be our good assistant. If we surf in the internet without goals, it is much possible that we have spent a half of day in it but get nothing. This is my personal experience. So, too much information can be a disaster in wasting our time. As a result, learning how to select information is one of the skills that we people living in this twenty first century have to master.

In sum, information is useful for us, but too much information could have the counter-effect. Therefore, we have to learn how to select useful information rather than absorbing every piece of news.
