UVA waitlist

我还在他们的wait-list上， 属于out-of-state priority list, 不分排名先后的那种，起码学校是这么说的。

都等到现在了，是不是就没希望了？各位有经验的前辈请帮忙指点指点，谢谢。

what's your lsat? probably need to wait until the end of July when the tuition is due at most schools to find out if there are additional seats available. Where are you headed if not UVA?

我LSAT太低了，168。 如果去不了UVa， 我是打算重新再申请一次了。

他们学校06/27号在网站上的update是这样写的： 

"Our entering class remains full, with a reasonable cushion to absorb an average number of cancellations between now and the start of school. Because this summer has seen an unusual amount of waiting list activity at peer schools, we will continue to maintain a number of candidates on our waiting list, in the event that late-summer attrition is greater than usual. "

average number of cancellations 是什么概念呢？有经验的朋友能帮忙解释一下吗？

My hunch is that the number of admission given out by UVA and have been accepted is slightly greater than the number of seats available, as it is expected that some of those having sent the seat deposit would still "cancel" the acceptance if they get off the waitlist at a higher ranked school.

You got nothing to lose by waiting it out. Just keep sending them updates and letters of continuing interest, and if you can make a visit to the campus and meet with people in admission office, that would be even better.

many thanks zhyue. waiting it out is the thing to do, man. i've been sending letters of continuing interest and an additional rec letter. now i'm debating whether i should pay their campus a visit...
