No merits for general discussion. You should check your admission binder for financial information. Usually the deal offered by your school is the best deal (4 a new  w/o cosigner) around. If your school does not offer a loan as such, then you should be very pleased to find a commercial loan (w/o the cosigner requirement), let along the interest rate they charge for it.
