另，a divorce occurring when children,是省动词从句，补全是a divorce occuring when (a divorce) was children, 逻辑不通

我觉得是这样：补全后a divorce that was occurring when they were children.

状语从句when的省略是有条件的，这里从句主语不等于主句主语；而且divorce并不是表示伴随或者持续发生的，它是一个过去的动作所以occur用分词一定错了．
