Prep里这道题选D啊...为什么?

   Prep里选E...是GWD的争论题...但是Prep提供的答案应该不会有错吧?有选E而不选C的有说服力的解释吗?

震撼！ 刚看过第二题 刚把自己的思路扳过来

 怎么觉得E没有主语呢 想不通啊

第二题看如下解释，我认为说得很清楚

A: among倒装，主语应该是the rate所以用单数is

B: 同上

C: their的指代存在歧义，离它最近的是sunspot cycles

D: believed应该用被动

E: correct

对于第一题，abc不用说了，在de中区分，就要看句意了

D) their last scheduled day in order to collect, the automobile company’s severance package is available to workers.

E) the last day that they are scheduled to collect, the automobile company’s severance package is available to workers.

首先要明确collect的对象是severance package, 而schedule应该修饰day, 意思是要工作到安排的最后一天才能collect the severance package,

而e中如果还原句型就是they are scheduled to collect the last day, 因为用的是that 而非in which, 这样意思不仅不对而且很荒谬。

退一步，就算that改成in which, 意思也不对，那样就是the last day in which they are scheduled to collect, 这里collect的对象是severance package, 但是整个短语的意思变成工人们被安排在最后一天collect severance package, 原句的意思只是说要工作到安排的最后一天才能collect the severance package，collect severance package可能是在最后一天也可能在其后，句意改变了

谢谢楼上解释啊 仔细看第二题的C觉得是在说 在地球上 the rate is believed to be 好像在别的地方就不believe了 而E说的是 地球上的surest indication 逻辑意思好像不太一样
