You can get rich very quickly. After two years, you are at a much better position to do what ever you want. Plus, Asian market has the most volatility in these 2 years, it is a historical opportunity that all chinese financial professional do not want to miss... As to the North American market, it is so matured and stable, thus not much upward potential. Most Chinese financial engineering grads don't get a chance to get into S&T in North America (due to culture and language barrier), and stuck with Risk Modeling or Programming, like myself. Risk Modeling pays salary&bonus usually much less than those in S&T. I have been doing derivative risk for over 2 years, not much fun and am thinking about going back to school for MBA in order to get into trading/portfolio management in HK. Hi, LifeSaver, Good to know someone who is doing quant job here! Appreciate if you can share with us more info about the type of job you are doing. How is the life style look like? Does it involve lots of people interaction, or is it pretty much working with a computer doing programming? How about work hours? Do you need to travel? and what's the range of compensation for such jobs? Thanks a lot! |
