Maccid, thank you for the new input. Yes, in China few people hear of Brandeis, and due to the information limitation, applicants pull a relative high weight of ranking in deciding what programs to go.

Ranking is important, so is the location. Brandeis enjoys a great place, in Boston, and a nice network from the Brandeis' alumni. Career/job placement situation is always the most important criteria for almost every ranking, so if Brandeis can maintain its good performance in this regard, we can expect to see Brandeis take a nice place in the major rankings soon.

Good luck to you for your application of 2008 MBA. If possible, please bring us more updates on the career placements, especially for Chinese students there.

What is the downside to have 20% Chinese students? One would be that some Chinese students do not bother themselves speaking English?

Speaking of oral English ability, do you think that such a community stops an effective improvement in oral ability? How do you think the language ability for most Chinese students in Brandeis?

I think so. Too many Chinese Students will impact negatively on your English practice.

However, as far as I know the students in Brandeis have a very good spoken English. In fact, you have a lot of chances to practise your English in an English speaking country.

An immensed experience in only English speaking environment will force a person to be a fluent English speaker. If we can count on other language in communication, our efforts will be allievated and therefore the effect will be compromised.

However I believe a person can decide who to blend with and what language to use to achieve the dedired effect.

as for the rank of ibs of brandeis I want to add something. it doesn't rank very low. actually you can not find ibs at all in the mba rank list coz it is too young. I hear that it will appear in the list in 3 or 5 years.if it will,I think it should be categorized as top 50 at least.
