My experience is that choosing a good supervisor is very important. I will ask or observe senior classmates which professors they choose and explore the reasons. As for research interests, it is not my concern since my research itnerests are very flexible and so up to the professors. Of course, before knocking the door of professors, you must have somethings in your minds, such as the research question. I think the good match of supervisors and students is mostly depends on mutual personality, and goals. As for courses, also, ask senior classmates. If the teacher is disappointing, albeit the contents are attractive, I will not take the course. |
