醉兄，不是这样子的。

are可以省略，但they也要同时省略掉，这种情况下就是but连接两个形容词，而不是句子。

如果带着are，那么就是连接句子，句子要有主语，they就不可以省略。

E虽然有点啰嗦，但语法上是不错的。D的although不能这样直接连接形容词，反而是错的。

偶现在明白了，E的they用法没错，but前面有逗号they省略和不省略都没有错。og上也有例子。

D还是平行问题or with

我觉得E不对，应该选D。说说我的理由哦。

1.E里面的have是个大问题。在OG里面，have和with一般是不能混用的，OG－10里面的例题，我看到现在，have作实义动词时，都是作possess的意思，跟中文里的“有”含义是不同的。这里说这些tomato ‘possess’bruises，显然是不对的。OG里have的用法，可以看看下面这道题：

2.but they are...这里的they are是redundant。正如wei_wangyan所言，although后面的they are要么保留，要么全部省掉，但在D里面，they are确实同时省略了，although more flavorful。

3.姑且不论have的问题，有人说E是平行对称结构，那么我要问的是，为什么要写成“they are often green and striped, or have plenty of bumps and bruises, but they are”？如果but 后面的they are补出，为什么要用or have，不用or they have？

所以我觉得D对
