congratulations. Is anybody here can tell me the difference between CUHK and CEIBS?

I have to say both schools are very good business schools, top tier in Asia, good brand. It's hard to say who is better and who will bring u more chances.

But I would like to share with you the reasons why I chose CUHK, instead of CEIBS:

1. HK is very different from mainland China, refering to the society, the people, the system and the way of people's thinking which i think would broaden your mind somehow;

2. HK is a bridge for western countries to enter China, same the other way around. You might be exposed to more opportunities to  help multinational firms to grow business in China with your mainland China background, HK experiences and western management knowledge you learn here.

3. CUHK has the longest MBA history in Asia and also one of the best universities in Hong Kong. With the biggest MBA alumni network, CUHK MBA would definitely help you extend your connection and provide more career opportunities.

4. CUHK's culture is more modest, which comes from its unchallenging reputation. When did we ever see Peking University orTsing Hua university behavior  very aggressively in promoting its name?

说说我的情况吧. 不想有太明显的倾向性,仅供参考.

我2001年申请的时候,对内地的MBA项目关心的不够多.当时自己也有想法:工龄很长,认为既然花那么多时间和金钱去读书,怎么着也得冲击一下世界名校.

GMAT成绩寄送以下大学:

1) Harvard Business School

2) UCLA

3) CUHK

4) National University of Singapore

5) 忘了哪一所了...

结果GMAT成绩很不理想,对于一个英语专业的人考那么点分分真的觉得很耻辱(俺不会提那个分数的)...

冲击哈佛的信心完全没有,最后决定,利用自己在港工作4年的优势写好essay, 只申请香港中文大学,没有就作罢.本身对自己在那个年龄去读书也有一定疑虑,家人和好几个朋友都觉得已经拥有硕士学位的我想继续读书的想法很奇怪.

后来当然是录取了,毕业了.

我问过自己:假如重新再回到2000年准备考G的那个时候,我还会选择CUHK吗?

2003年底非典冲击香港经济,在我求职失去方向感的时候,我的想法依然是:如果时光倒流,我应该还会申请 Harvard Business School + Chinese University of Hong Kong

我的想法其实很简单,2001-2003年 我很好地享受了在中大的校园生活,系统地整理了自己的思路,调整了自己的知识结构, 认识了一些同样很优秀的人. 就这么简单.

我对中大怀有感情. 这也是为什么我很乐意参加各地校友的聚会, 一有时间就来这里看贴或灌水的原因

同感！！！在过去的８个月中也是收获良多，但也觉得在短时间吸收的太多的东西，还没有时间来好好消化整理．

我个人也是非常喜欢重大的生活，只不过我没sherman优秀，当初只申请了ceibs，ckgsb和cuhk．

抱歉啊！sherman大哥，原来说好easter去澳门的．后来因为个人原因在深圳耽搁了２天，剩下的４天又全拿来做business　practicum了．

我到北京了, Jenking也到了. 明天會跟在北京的兄弟姊妹們聚聚.

我始終得說,香港是個極端適合做I-banker發展的地方

但相對的,作為marketer發展的地盤來說,太小,文化的差異也讓我很難切入.  要做是一定找的到工作,但不一定是自己喜歡的.

中大的學習體會很多很多,我是marketing concentration的,在這學期上完Prof. Samart Powpaka的課之後之前零散的很多marketing 相關知識總算是全拼在一起,大大的系統化了.

至於Finance, 對不起Prof. Joseph, 小弟我慧根不足,實在...忘記的多. 但最基本的WACC, DCF, 以及幾種equity evaluation model是一定記得的.

後天要上工了,壓力很大...還沒上工前就收到了作業得唸完><
