It is not an easy goal to achieve indeed. CK has strong financial backup, but lacks good track of performance. It faces firece competition from Ceibs and other top bschools in USA or Europe. No top student body will serious damage the eventual realization of its aspiration. CK has done something wonderful, such as generous scholarship and financial aid to attract top applicants. CK must do more on attracting a balanced applicant pool from both domestic and overseas. Lack of decent ranking may impede its efforts to this effect.
Cash can buy time and reputation, drawing best scholars. In this sense, a credit should first go to Mr. Lee for his vision and commitment to the long-term success of CK.
CK may need find more sources of donations to diversify its financial backing risks, given the long-term burning cash reality.
