129th of 185 To build a economic center or an agriculture center? Have you ever found that nowadays land is less fertile than two decades ago? Have you ever considered that one forth of the world populations is still starving? Have you ever got to know that the farming land on the earth is decreasing? An agriculture research center may solve all the problems mentioned above.
First, a recent survey shows that about 1/4 of the world population is still suffering from starvation and many kinds of disease. Maybe someone will say the problem is caused by various factors, such as underdeveloped society, the place lack of water, or the land is not fit to farm, and so on. But what the real reason is we do not have a productive agriculture system. If the research center could brought us a prolific agriculture system, that we only need very few land to plant corps, then every people on the planet would get adequate food, and the spare land could be made into other uses.
In addition, due to “the green house effect” and desertification the land, which is suite to farming, is threatened. As we all know, the water-level of ocean increased nearly 2-3 centimeters per year, and the desert is expanding its area at a dramatic speed. It is almost unquenchable if we do not take some measure. Then who is going to lead us in this battle with nature? An agriculture research center, definitely.
Although somebody may support to build an economic research center for it will boost our economy and our living standard. But if we cannot feed ourselves, who ever will concern about money. Remember that to have enough food is the essential requirements of human.
In conclusion, I would rather support the idea that an agriculture research center should be built, which has the most basic and significant mean to us.
