McGill is a joke, Ivey takes 30-40 Chinese every year, Rotman takes another 20-30, there is also Queen's and Schulich, you are competing against anywhere between 100-150 Chinese MBAs for an internship or full time position(if there are any positions at all), what is your chance? You are not even in Toronto. UW is little bit better, no idea what its ranking is, but since Microsoft is nearby, in theory placement can be better. I would talk to current CHINESE students to see how many can get jobs at Microsoft every year. My impression is that Microsoft is very competitive, and is among the best corporate programs. I know there are people turned down Booz/BCG and chose Microsoft instead, and similar to consulting Microsoft takes significantly less people for internship that it does for full time. In my view, both are risky options; especially you also worry about your Canadian citizenship. If you absolutely want a MBA education, I would consider choosing a school in Toronto. Rotman and Schulich might not guarantee you jobs, but there is at least hope. |
