LZ, I'm using my husband's id. I totally understand your feeling, but trust me, you will find a way out, and this experiences will transfer to strength and courage which you can depend on in future days. I came to U.S. in 2002 and enrolled in a Ph.D program. I was told that my Graduate Assistantship can not be guaranteed because of a huge budget cut from the state. I never thought about asking money from my parents, and apparently it's too much for them too. Going abroad and studing is my personal choice, so the only person I decided and only thought about to count for is myself. I had big pressure during that half year since the first day I learned about the losing assistantship possibility. I went to see program director and many faculty members asking about other financial aid. And finally, I got full financial aid from another department and transfer to a much better major which I like very much. a few months later, another 5000 dollars additional fellowship was granted to me which gave me enough funding to travel to China twice a year in 3 years. I guess what I'm trying to say is, you are not alone who suffers big pressure here. Not many people are lucky enough to get financial aid for their study and only need to concentrate on study. MBA is only 2 years, and think about those doing 5 years  h.D. Think positive that you can earn good money after 2 years of study, and other social science major people can only get at most half of your salary after 5 years of Ph.D and sometimes a couple years of post-doc. Hold on, and wish you all the best. |
