In the most common procedure for harvesting forage crops such as alfalfa,as much as 20% percent of the leaf and small stem material,the most nutritious parts of the plant,shatters and falls to the ground.

我的问题是as much as 20% percent of the leaf and small stem material为什么会用单数谓语动词呢？谢谢！

material不是不可数吗？而且从前面的as much as也可以看出来

但是两个不可数名词用and连接，谓语不是应该用复数吗？

这里的the leaf and small stem修饰material as much as 20% percent of 修饰material

这样看as much as 20% percent of （the leaf and small stem） material shatters...

你可以把括号内的词去掉 这样就是不可数名词的谓语动词复数形式
