两道看似简单但不知道知识点就很难做对的题目

from my perspective, I will vote for C"that"...of what redundant and ill idiomatic... (that)跳跃修饰 it has nothing to do with restrictive clause...with "semicolon",  we don't necessarily use which/what...here..."," is just used to seperate per milligram....

D中的“3 times the price of what ... charges... ”说不通

根据句意，这里的what 就是指the price，难道说“3 times the price of the price...”？说不通！

C中的that 虽然可以省，但不省也没错！

此题出自：GWD-4-Q4 我也做了一点点功课，发现MM的这个问题很受关注，有很多讨论贴。有兴趣地可以用题号搜索一下。虽然很多人呼吁修改答案，但看来讨论没有最终定论。我的总结和想法是：

 

支持选c的人大部分认为that做定语修饰price，随可省可不省，但有也不是错。强烈反对D的人或用分析介词来否定"of what".  如charge sth at XX, charge xx for sth, 或用the price of price又重复啰嗦之罪名。既然我们有GMAT权威给出的答案D，靠近它的思维对我们做对题会有很大的帮助。大家可以先问一下自己“这本题考点应该在哪儿？” 应该仅考一个插入语及定语从句吗？从句子整体看，我认为难点应该在倍数和比较，且中间有插入语干扰。

看原句第一反应是比较：three times the price as不对。

语法点一---倍数表达：three times + the + Noun Phrase

语法点二---比较结构

what...charges...中，what引导名词性从句修饰限定了another product的price的具体内容。个人感觉选that有解释的功能但失去了比较的意义。

首先，charge XX for sth 是正确并常用的。

谢谢MM对我的信任，但这道题真难住我了 我也选了E, 虽然有逗号在so that前。D很难让我理解，其一allow that...是“承认...”的意思，这里应该是allow sb to do sth。其二，that...so...的倒用使原句逻辑不通，因果倒置了吧？！

再去查查回来吧！

The answer is E.  so that之前加逗号 is fine.

D is wrong for two reasons:

1) allows + clause is not a correct form. You can only say allows+ n.

2) in standard English, when there is a so, there must be a that after.

As for the second question above, the answer is C: that.  I have expressed in detail in another link below, and don't want to repeat here.

个人觉得，the price that = what，应该选C。
