Since my best friend aired his comments here, I add up sth too. As a prospect MBA, I believe MBA is more about alumni, current student and brand name than education itself. MIT has an obvious lead in the first two factors and a huge lead in the last even in China, let alone in the global. Outstanding and diversified classmates will provide broader and global vision, even out of the business aspect. Alumni will help in job searching (esp for banking jobs) in the short-term and bridge you into a good network and “圈子" in the long run. It somehow sounds material, but it's truth of business world. CEIBS is the best B-school in China with its advantage of location. If your ambition is back to China (the new "B to C"), you may launch a local network earlier in CEIBS. However, as I happened to know some CEIBS graduates, I suspect the quality of the network, I mean compared to MIT. Furthermore, if your career target is beyond China in the long run, say an Asia Pacific role or sth even bigger, you will find what MIT provided (global vision, business knowledge, network and brand name) a fortune. Choose MIT and participate actively in the Asia Club or Chinese Business Clubs sth, networking with Chinese in HBS, Yale from mainland, you will achieve what you aspire. My personal advise. However, you should make your choice of life and never regret after that. BTW, got feeling that you have limited knowledge of current China and romance and imagination of a girl. Talk to more ppl in mainland though. Will benefit your future career and life choice in China. |
