先讲这个题目的解题思路：
（1）排除c/d
（2）比较a/b/e，我们依然从动词入手，a/b用动词，e用名词，这是e答案的不好之一；另外，there is 不好根本不能表示动作的延续。
（3）比较a/b，选B；a有两处错误（1）时态（2）during 不加具体的时间。

1 根据主句现在完成时可以肯定丛菊也应该是现在完成时么？
   必须根据意思判断，不可轻易用，并且看看其他地方可否突破。
2 总感觉从句中its指代不清楚，应该选E才队。
  不要感觉，答案是比较出来的。我的感觉是代词和时态是英语中最难的，如果没有绝对的把握不要从这两点入手。

in two decades 用的是现在完成时。而不是根据主句来判断的。

during的用法可以确定，可以说during a period, during a war, 但不能说during 100 years ;我记得好象有一题就是考这个题目记不清了

during +时间，但是在A中，during two decades不是具体时间啊？是段时间。

我查了一下字典，
1） throughout the duration of ： eg. during the summer
2 ) at a point in the course of : eg.during the visit to the hospital


还是尽量不要用during的用法来判断，不容易准确。
