Facts are stubborn things. They cannot be altered by our wishes, our inclination, or the dictate of our passion 

I agree with the topic but with reservations 

1 fact itself cannot be changed by our intention, we only able to think it subjectively

2 people able to telling the fact in different way in order to leave other people an impression they wanted

 

The speaker’s assertion is that fact is unable to be change by means. I generally agree with the topic that fact itself is cold and will not change by people’s intention. But I contend that we able to change the meaning illustrated in the fact through present it in a way that we favorite.

There is no doubt that fact, such as numbers, results, and opinions that we cannot put our finger on it once it happened. We consider different kinds of fact in our everyday life. Facts have played a very important role on us how to look at things and make decision. We have been often been told to understand the matter from an objective manner is good for us to make a sound plan. If we take a look at the opposite, those people who don’t understand the objectivity of fact, and try to ignore them, and image the truth from their inclination and dictate of their passion. Often the result is quite miserable because their effort did not based on reality. One apt example is some scientists try to invent the perpetual machine, they believe that a machine able to work forever and without any energy they against the fact that any power is balanced on the earth. However, the result is they waste their effort in vein because they didn’t accept and respect the fact in science.

But things could be a little bit different when we consider that how people looking at the fact. Although the fact is unchangeable, but there is no denying that we can present it in different way in order to give a new perspective to that fact illustrated. For instance, we often receive the information from media, but media could given people the opinion as they wanted by induce their reader to their favorable standing. As a simple fact that is Saddam Hassin has been executed in Iraq. Some newspapers could give their readers the impression that the justice has achieved through the penalty to his crime. But on the other side, some newspaper could criticize that American government try to show their power to their enemies. However, readers from different newspaper would be impressed differently on this fact that Saddam has executed. Another example that is in courtroom, the legal justice is often based on the fact, or evidence. The witness usually asked to speak the truth. But we cannot assure that witness would not be only memorizing the facts from their way of how to look at it. They only tell the fact about what they impressed most. Also, juries who listen to the narrative from witnesses would come to a conclusion that related to their feeling, and their experience. In the end, the absolute fact is never able to be present in court since people have different angle when their perceive it.

  In summary, we cannot change the fact because is already happened. But there are varies ways on how people looked at those facts. Through different way to present those fact we could come to a different conclusion that by our wishes, our inclination, or the dictate of our passion
