I learnt somewhere that all the graduates of FinMath found job last year or the year before last year. I personally prefer Stanford for the following reasons: 1. Fantastic weather and environment in California. Do your hear of so-called California Sunshine? 2. I believe FinMath at Stanford is an excellent program since it's based on one of the best GSBs and good Math Department. The curriculum is flexible and you can even select four of the six PhD level courses in GSB, such as Dynamic Asset Pricing Theory by Prof. Duffie(top scholar in asset pricing all over the world). 3. Stanford also has advantages in its worldwide brand and very strong alumni group. Someone says "You will realize brand is really a big matter when you're involved in business." 4. Somebody may view Stanford's location as a disvantage, but in my point this is not the case. My friend in US tells me that it's common for them to fly from south to north for interviews frequently; one should not be confined by location. Stanford's FinMath selection for graduate candidates is very rigorous compared with other similar programs. I think it really deserves because of it's a quite good program. Depressed with my rejection... but... I know I'm not that eligible...
