Arguments for MBA: It's your life. If you can't do something they don't agree with, you haven't outgrown their lives yet. You have a long career ahead of you, job placement post MBA is only a tiny fraction of it. Financially, you can take loans or pay them back after you start working. Arguments against MBA: Two years is a long time, especially if your parents are against it. A MBA should help you get a good job, but not promise one. If you already have one, it may not be worth giving it up. Suggestion: get a few offers then decide. You may get into your dream school which may motivate you to go regardless of your parents opinion. It may not be that smooth either, and you may decide to stay with your company instead of going with a mediocre program. |
