我觉得是有这个精力不如放在ESSAY上。

其实给教授写信也不需要什么精力的，呵呵，不过我只是感觉人应该主动一些，哪怕失败了也会六个好印象；我原来面试一家公司后给人家写了封信，那个director就回了，说对我的initiative什么的印象很深，还写了好多我的特点及这次没能录取的原因，说以后有这样的机会会通知我。我想申请MBA和找工作有很像的地方：都是想方设法把自己sell出去，既然这样，联系了也不会有什么坏处。--一点自己的看法

It's a lot of work if you really want to impress the professor enough that they make it a point to speak to admissions office about you.  For PhD and master's, professors are involved in the admissions process.  For MBA, that's generally not the case.  You'll have to really impress their pants off to get a professor to help you out.

1. no use to contact professor. better to leave some impression to admissions officer.

2. how will you impress them? how good you are?

3. you are not the first one contact the admissions officers before applying. They know your intent.

the professors are not part of the admission officer. impressing the professors wont really help your odds being admitted.
