I think everybody has his own opinion. From my point of view,  experienced user (alumni) + target customer (BCG's management) + observer (a student who claimed he has undergrad experience in UVA) already gave a very strong signal.

This signal will definitely not affect any decision from people who can enter an M7 school (for example, nobody will choose UVA and drop Columbia). But it will affect people who get offers from different Top 15 schools, for example, a person who gets offers from Duke, UVA and Michigan.
