"each...the other" is idiomatic in American English. However, "both...the other" is sometimes used but it 's not standard written English.

Another example is the use of the expression: "No pain no gain." You will be able to find both the expressions on the web:

"No pain no gain." and "No pains no gains." The former is far more acceptable by American English speakers than the latter.

这条为什么不是C呢？each放在复数名词后面，谓语不是应该用复数形式吗？另外B中the other似乎有歧义，可以理解为是the cause之外的东西。C中用the other person避免了歧义。
