Have you ever watched that public medias broadcast fashion programs all day? Have you ever seen that teenagers wear bizarre clothings? It is apparently that the current culture and society are care about fashion and appearances more often than ten years ago. To begin with, it exists so many advertisements of dressing style and hair style in the television and magazines that finally I give up to watch them, because I feel I am so tired about these advertisement.The hot programs in television are usually about super stars. Their dressing and life style become popular fashion that ordinary people would like to seek for. There are magazines which specilize in teach women how to dress and how to make up following fashion. From my perspective, the public medias lose sight on other things which are surely more magnificent for our society, including hard work and economical life. Except public medias, I realize that the shopping mall are also increasing too quickly. When every time I go out for shopping, perhaps I will find there would be a new shopping mall be openned. The more shopping malls are built, the more they stimulate people to spend money on appearances. Generally three stories of five in a store deparment are displaied clothing and cosmetics to attract customers. The last phenomenon, I found that the teenagers spend more their time to think about their dressing than study even in the school. They are victim of fashion seekers. My sisiter is a best example of this case. She is only 15 years old, but she is interested in whether her hair style or shoes' color are follow current fashion. It is primary thing for her to go to school that she wants to show her new hair style. Consequently, I argue current people think too much of their appearances and fashion these days compared with decade ago. When we seek for high quality lives in the meantime we should consider other responsibilities and obligations that are profoundly meaningful for us. |
