Report on the progress of the intern plan: 1. I have contacted lehman brothers, merril lynch, UBS, Morgan Stanley, two private money management funds and two private equity funds in China. The contacts are made at the level of owner, partner, managing director level. 2. Wall street firms prefer people who are already in the US. They are interested in one of our students but the interview will be postponed to next Summer. 3. One of the private money management firm is likely to take one person but it is not final yet. 4. The private equity firms in China are interested in our students. They will contact you directly. Overall, it is still quite tough but we probably can get about three people in. One comment I got is that they want people who have strong quantitative background. This may be biased as my contacts are former academics. We will do better next year |
