今天才模考完2002年9月的题目，第11题虽然蒙对了答案，却不知道该如何理解：

11. W: Didn't the comittee say it would only take a month for them to complete the report? It took at least twice that long.
M: Yeah, there must with way off the mark.

这位男士的话该如何翻译呢？

没想到今天真的考到way off the mark这个词组了呀，当时只好胡猜了。

Sorry I didn't see your question yesterday. 'Way off' usually equals to 'too'.

我觉得不应该把way off the mark理解为不相关。

mark：n. a point reached or gained；way off: 与...有很大距离，那句话的意思应该是他们估计的与最后达到的有很大差距。
