I heard that Tuck owns a small but close community. What are the pros and cons for career acceptance? As you know, social network is very important to MBA students. Geographical situation might hinder this wideness. What do you think of it? Secondly, what kind of prospective student will Tuck prefer to take? Esp. those chinese who have successfully joined Tuck program. Do they share anything in common? What about their career path after MBA? Thirdly, what about the study load and life? I know MIT and Harvard are pretty stressful and competitive in study. What is the stronges major in Tuck? General mangement right? But so many people go for finance, IB, VC. How do you see this strong trend in the school? That would be nice if you could give me some ideas of the above questions. Thanks! First, pros are you have chance to know everyone in your class (normally 250 students enrolled per year) and fairly most of second year students, they're the best resources for your career pursuit. People are really willing to help here, including faculty, staff from Career Development Office and alumni. Company briefings on campus are more than you can physically attend, as a matter of fact. Cons is that it's difficult to conceal your personal privacy since Tuck is a tiny community and your neighbour might probably know more of you than you can imagine. Secondly, people at Tuck are smart and nice. Post MBA careers are totally depending on personal interests and diversified. You'll have more opportunities to work for consulting firms or investment banks after Tuck if you like. Thirdly, it's well known that the courses at Tuck are quite rigorous, but you'll find more cooperative atmosphere within your study group and your class. Tuck has the best professors in General management, and also prevailing strength in Finance. Especially Tuck has a remarkable reputation at finance area. |
