OG的解释说这道题有两个正确的表示，一个就是twice as many as in 1977，这个我理解，我不太懂得就是正确答案D，为什么说强调number的对比是就要用double?那twice是强调什么的对比呢？还有这个选项，这个figure和for的正确性让我感到很混乱~~谁能帮我解释一下？

double和twice as many as 其实是一个意思，但是前者要比后者简洁

比较的题目中出现新名词figure，比it, that指代会更明确

GMAT的原则之一是句子尽量的简洁，表达意思清楚，当有倍数出现的时候优先使用double treble等词，这个是GMAC的出题思路和习惯，他们就认为这样简洁，这样好，没人能解释为什么

这里double是形容词，形容the figure，这里the figure for 1977就好像是here's an apple for you一个道理

double这里是动词，和后面的the figure构成动词短语，见OG11th－44题

The underlined portion of the original sentence is awkward because the verb reduced is followed by a prepositional phrase rather than the direct object time. Changing this structure so that the object immediately follows the verb, reduced the time, also allows an idiomatic error to be corrected. Required should be followed by an infinitive, to assemble, rather than a prepositional phrase, of assembling. The phrase indicating time should be used to complete the sentence: reduced the time required to assemble a Model T from a day and a half to 93 minutes.

time做reduced的直接宾语（见红色部分），感觉这到题和LZ的题应该是一样的

楼主,纠正一个错误哦~~~b选项多了一个in~我说怎么会有两个选项的呢~~

在白勇语法里提过这样的～更偏向double～

 

弱弱的认为double不是动词，要是动词的话，它的主语是谁呢？前面已经有了there　are了，如果再跟一个动词的话，起码也是要一个连词的，可是连词又在哪里呢？

 

至于这个for～老实说我还真没想过～～～～～

强调重心不一样twice as many as (the female ministers)in 1977括号里省略，强调人。

double the figue for 1977 the figure指前面的2万多神职人员，强调数字。

至于介词我觉得不是考试重点，但是这里可能有一点点细微的差别就是 figure在1977年和对于1977看的那些人的数目，我觉得从中文理解上我倾向于for，也许当作是一样的也可以吧，再讨论。
