麻烦大伙帮我看看：套词套回来了，接下来呢？

套词是套回来了，但看不大懂。有几个问题还请大伙帮我解惑：

 

1.       要是我不把G考高点机会就不大是吗？那为何又encourage me to consider applying？

2.       是叫我明年去学校看看吗？该怎么和他约明年campus visit的时间呢？

3.       我就想要跟他做研究呀，为何要我与其它faculty联系？不是说最好一个学校只和一位教授套词吗？

Thank you for your interest in our strategy PhD program.  Attached is a flyer containing some more information.  And yes, we are planning to admit students for the fall of 2007.  Your resaerch questions sound interesting, and we have several faculty in the area of entrepreneurship.  Most of my current work can be found at the URLs below.  I encourage you to consider applying, and if you do so, I would also ask you to consider a campus visit early next year.  You should also make contact to other faculty in the strategy area.  While your educational background looks strong, please keep in mind that admissions is very competitive, and a 700 GMAT is generally the lower bar.  While your 690 score won’t disqualify you, you might want to consider retaking to be even more competitive, the current students’ average is 720, some are 750.  On our PhD website, there are the addresses for the current students.  I’d also encourage you to email them for some more information.  All this is helpful to you in putting a competitive application together.

1.Nobody can garantee this.But since he or she suggested you retaking GMAT, it seems that this school emphasizes quantative criteria, such as GPA, GMAT etc.If other applicants' score are higher than yours, then....;

2.This is their policy.All of my amarican classmates did so.But if you are in China and manage to come and visit, then your chance of being admitted will be very high. I knew somebody did so and succeeded last year;

3. This is an interchoice between facutly and graduate students because nobody knows for sure his or her research interests at the very beginning.There is no binding-contract between you currently;Then just contact other faculties;

Why not contact other schools to have more choices?Good luck

我也没想到它的要求这么高，学校网站上写的average GMAT是695，怎么教授的回信变成720？GMAT 720都可以申请NYU了…

再请问mauricewang, 那我应该现在回给教授的信中就跟他约时间吗？还是等他通知？还是年底再email给他约较合适呢？多谢多谢！

我觉得你最好先把申请材料都寄出去后再去比较好，如果你从国内来 我建议你一次多看几所，来得及的 别担心！好好准备申请材料吧

呵呵，加油啊，我认识的老师很八卦的，说他们学校拘了一个720的，竟然收了一个500+的，原因是遇到大冷年，没有人报名
