1. 对于未来求职，如果希望通过MBA达到转换以下因素 :职位，行业，地域.

找到理想职位的难度与要转换的因素的多少成正比。最难的是要同时转换行业，职位和地域。其次是要转换三个因素中的两个，比较简单的是转换三个因素中的一个。

看来我至少会涉及到除职位外的两个因素，个人感觉最难的还是转换行业。不过我毕业时间还不是太长，因此在转换时可能不会那么吃力，我想强调一下这方面，另外本科专业与金融有些相关性。

 1000字不算少了，不记得哪篇文章要求这么多字数啊？

FIT (The foundation of integrative thinking) - Rotman的旁听。

Lisa 是我的向导。由于会议讨论的时间超时了，迟到了15分钟，Lisa原来留了20分钟参观教学楼的，正好我前一天在Rotman women in management open house参观过，Lisa也没计较我的迟到，只是听我已经见识过了，就把参观砍了。心里觉得安慰多了，而且对Lisa顿生好感。工科学生就是随和，没有文科生的傲气和理科生的咄咄逼人。

今天是FIT的第一节课。Lisa在教室里给我预留了一个位置。

主讲是聪明绝顶的副教授John M. Oesch（2B+2M+MBA+Phd）.
        首先介绍了IT(integrative thinking) 的必要性，以及对现在的典型的供应与需求的商业模型的在钱其商业理念思考的补充。接下来介绍了课程的评分标准 30%论文+20%课堂听讲参与（强调了发言不在多，贵在对课堂有启迪）+ 30%小组project/presentation+ 20%作业（只要求按时交）。最后举了一个对数字的选美比赛来说明对思维训练的重要性。这门课是Rotman最标新立异的一门课，也不过是强调中国文化中强调了由来以久的融会贯通/触类旁通的思维方法。

教授思路清晰，重点突出，印象鲜明，能够比较好地总结学生的观点和意见，并积极引导学生思考。给个90分。

学生大班上课60人其中30%是明显的少数民族（亚裔，拉美），其中30人积极轮流发言，教授一个问题，同时举手要求发言的人能多达10-11个。开口积极发言人中80%本地口音（清一色白人），10%欧洲口音，5%印巴口音，5%日韩口音。绝大多数学生有见地，少数思维混乱不能切中要害。学生整体水平85分。

最大的缺点是课堂太大，你不能积极发言让教授注意你，教授就永远不会注意你！

今天收到了正式的report,AWA考了5.5，之前我一直担心作文准备得不好，冲着3分去考的。看来在没压力的情况下发挥的还是蛮好的！

准备周末搞定四篇essay,有点难度，加上这两天感冒。但是我相信在压力之下才能产生动力！So,Fighting!

P.S:iveymay所说的ivey今年废掉两名中国学生挺震撼的，不知道rotman会不会也使这种变态的招。

 

再补充一句，两天写完essay是有点变态，我感觉已经有点透支灵感了，下午花了4个多小时写了一篇250字的。其他的又不知道怎么写了！！

Nope, there is no Chinese accent whether from mainland or HK. There are some CBC-look people. They didn't say anything in the class which was dominated by local whites mainly.  

Congratulations to your excellent AWA. I know it has to your spelling if you are not above 5. I've red your complaint letter. It was good.

I will ask Lisa about it. But class contribution is not everything, so I think Chinese student can still make up the grade by doing other stuff well. I will go to an information session about student loan in Rotman this week. I hope that I can ask the question to Cheryl, the director, directly. But she may not know this, right? She is recruiting not in charge of  student affairs.

Sorry to hear you are sick. Hope you will feel better soon.

I am making progress in my essays too. Finally I feel I am being myself this time.

Thanks I will. Very unfortunately I have not finish all of them, only half. Why MBA and failure thing, and they still need to be restructured. I have never thought that writing 1250 words could be this tough.

Lisa's answert to some of your questions:

I'm glad you enjoyed the class visit. Here are the answers to your
questions:
1) The full time class has approximately 250 students. They are divided
in to 4 sections of 60 people. Rotman tries to keep the class sizes to
60, which caters to more discussion and participation. As you saw, the
part time class is just one section of 60 people.
2) The MBA degree is a lot of work (I won't lie to you). I think
Rotman's style is somewhere in between Ivey's and Stanford's. From my
experience, you will pass and get a degree if you put in the time and effort.
If you slack off and do no work, yes you will fail courses. The average
mark for students in our class is a B+. If you do the assignments and
exams, you'll at a minimum get a B. If you study really hard and put a
lot of effort in to your studies you'll easily get A's. It will all
depend on the time you can put in to studying.
3) I'll do my best to answer application essay questions. Keep in mind
my answers will be from a "student's" perspective, because I have no
input to the admissions committee. So just let me know your application
questions and I'll do my best to help.

是要给推荐人布置作业。我发了一些关于b-school 对mba candidate的要求的文章给推荐人。等我的Resume,essays改好了我会发给推荐人并征求其意见。我能保证我选的推荐人不论有多忙都会阅读这些文章。我的推荐人搞定了，对我来说就算推荐信稿定了。我不知道Rotman会问什么问题，但是万变不离其宗就是那些素质。我没有全部的素质，但是多多少少有几样素质。我相信我的推荐人会给我非常好的评语，无论学校问的是什么问题。
