Humans have always traveled around the world, but the purposes differ a lot between long long ago and nowadays.To some extent, reading material holds the same opinion with the what the professor said in the listening. The lecturer suggested that centuries ago, travel was not very popular. Only few people, such as the authorities or the rich, could travel.They traveled mostly for two reasons: political or economical. Travel, in that period, was considered a venture not a pleasure. Here he quoted Hemingway as an example, he liked to go hunting in the wild, and do something really adventurous that others could not afford. This kind of experiment influenced his writing, which until now, is also very popular. Centuries later, nowadays, travel is considered seaching for entertainment and gaining personal experience. Now people like to make a distant destination and enjoy its different culture.So many people prefer to spending their holiday in a small town or a small village, living with local people. There are many kind of travel now, the lecturer cited two as examples. One is athletic travel. They travled for the lost dancing, ceremonies, songs, and other elements in some old culture. The other is called enviromental travel, most travelers involved would be the scientist. They travel deep to the forest or the African jungle for some scientific studies. They observe the plants and animals for one aim of learning the nature.
