看了一下大家的帖子，我觉得问题在这几方面：

A.的主要问题，IMO，还是有效性错误，即competitive作为形容词不如动词形式表达明确；另外我认为这里not directly的位置也有待考虑，合理我列出两个句子供大家体会： so as not directly to be competitive against  （原选项）

                             so as not to be directly competitive against

E的主要问题在于for the purpose of 表目的，即“Factory outlet stores为了...的目的而坐落在”我觉得在逻辑上未免欠妥，另外还有就是一个有效性的问题， of not competing “介词+-ing”，不能说这个搭配一定错（在做题中经常碰到这种搭配），但起码这里的有效性比较低

另外，对于competitive固定搭配的问题，刚刚查了一下longman，把全部的结构贴出来，大家仔细看就会发现问题在哪：

相比compete动词形式，书中并没有提到competitive任何固定搭配，那么如果我们假设longman足够权威的话，可以说明competitive一般式不用固定搭配形式的
