根据 both A and B ，可以排除A，D  答案在 B,C,E中选

    而且 speculation of 后面必须跟 n 结构，而possibly another increase on the way 是非常混乱的修饰结构，有v 结构的味道在里面

 2. “ 通过什么样的方式 ” 使用 By doing  ，虽然 because ...结构也说得过去但是和原句 A给出的句意差的海了去了，我个人觉得如果遇到 

      这种明显改变的了原句（也就是A选项）的 还是能不选就不选的好

      且 they 有修饰歧义

我选的E，不过想想，还是觉得C
因为because创造的因果关系是我们自己凭空添加的，原句并没有这样的因果体现，所以还是C吧

别的语法点就不要再细究了。。。help to do也不是什么大毛病，和我们随意改变句意相比。。。

这题看着就火,而且越看越火.
help to do 明显不对,上来就把BC去掉了.
speculation这里明显是说猜测,跟possibly 重复.BE 也不对.
both... and...常用.both... along with 不对.然后AD 也去掉了.
结果没一个对的.如果把C 里面的to 去掉,就对了. 这题是不是错了!

我也选的是E。
楼上说的speculation与possibly 重复倒是提醒了我，但是在其他选项里面用might be就不重复吗？

我对此题答案的理由猜测是由于C与E都基本算是正确的。C里面多了to，算是个可有可无的小瑕疵，但与E相比，E的累赘成分要比C仅有的一个to多，because从句可直接用分词代替。
前面31楼提到的on the way修饰存在歧义我想也是很重要的一点。

以上仅为对答案理由的猜测……

幾點看法，請大家指教:
一、美式英語中，help 直接接原形動詞，英式英語中，則是help + to +原形動詞
二、speculation 在這句指的是"投機買賣"，不是"猜測"
三、E 當中的they是指主語 decision and speculation，指涉明確。

我觉得，从speculation后面的内容来看，指“投机买卖”很难说得通。
