问大家duke long essay 1一个问题.

Describe an example of where you were challenged to lead in a team-oriented context. What was the challenge you faced, how did you address it, and what takeaways or lessons learned have you successfully applied in other leadership situations?

这里的challenged to lead 可以理解为作为一个team leader在某个task 或project中面对的challenge吗? 还有, 这里只能写一个challenge吗? 还是可以同时写几个challenges?, 如果只能写一个challenge的话, 能把几个在task中碰到的困难综合写成一个challenge, 然后分项解决吗?

想听听大家怎么理解的, 谢谢

在填Duke的self-report transcript，有个问题，填生日日期的时候要对excel表格去保护，要密码？该是啥密码啊？

另外，在填各个学期成绩的时候，是按时间正序还是倒序呢？

1：点生日日期后面的那个cell格子F21，而不要点B21，就不需要密码，密码是用来保护它的模版的不受修改，你不点他模版上写了内容的格子就不用密码；

我点F21还是密码保护，输不进去，怎么办？

office had received bunch of queries upon the self-reported transcript
in recent weeks and corrected version has been updated, so just try to
download the new version which should be ok, according to adimssion
officer's claim.

Following is the official reponse to the TOEFL requirement from Admission Office, hope it will be helpful to you all!

"It is true that we do not have a minimum TOEFL requirement.  This is because the TOEFL (or IELTS, which we have started accepting this year) is not the only tool the admissions committee uses to determine an applicant's language ability.  The committee will look at the TOEFL/IELTS score, GMAT score, undergraduate courses, essays, recommendations, and the interview in order to determine an applicant's language skill.  We look at all of these factors together, and not in isolation.  This is why we do not have a TOEFL minimum; because the TOEFL is not the single consideration. "

我有两个比较特殊的问题想请教一下，

1，为了申请比较TOP的学校，我于07年的7月辞去了工作，专心准备GMAT考试和申请工作；
请问，因辞职而产生的这几个月的work experience gap对于招生的人来说是可以接受的吗？
如果不能接受的话，我应该怎么弥补这个缺陷？现在看来为了这个原因，再找一家公司上半年的班似乎不太现实。

2，我在工作阶段，念了一个part time的硕士学位，但是各科成绩并不好，这个情况如何跟招生办公室的人交代？

Hi, Richard,

Actually you are not alone in terms of your situation. There are many people who quitted job to work for application, although whether quit the job is always arguable here on CD, yet if you believe it would be good for you, just do it, admission officers understand the difficulty to apply while work, so take it easy.

For the part time master degree, it would also be ok, and the GPA already became history, what you can do now is only to focus on stuff that you can change, such as essays, potential interviews, recommendation letters etc. Worry to much about history would not do any good to your future, action speaks!

除了 what was the challenge, how did you address it, what takeaways or lessons learned, 还需要回答have you successfully applied in other leadership situations 这个问题吗。

我是觉得要回答第四个问题， 但感觉在题目中第三个和第四个问题连在一起，意思不是那么清楚，大家怎么看？
