Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Television has destroyed communication among friends and family. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

 

In recent years, people seem to blame that the decreasing of communication is because of television, however is television really limiting the communication among people? As far as I am concerned, television has not only brought more communication topic for people, but also created more communication to our family. My reasons go as follows.

    First of all, Most of our topics in our conversations are mainly about television, without television, it seems there is not much to talk about. Think about your topics in your conversations, are not they from television you just saw yesterday or before? Furthermore, if television has not give communication topics among friends and family, what else build up our communication topics among people? Only one thing we can talk about is things happened around us, but it is hard to have a long lasting conversation to people.

    In addition, television is a part of our life as are our meals, work or school; it plays an important role in communication between friends and family. Conversation is part of our live and we cannot live without it. Nevertheless, the question is, where should we find a conversation topic? At this moment, television shows its advantages, we could find a lot of communication topic on the television such as from news, movie channels or educational channels.

    What is more, many television programs are specially designed for families to watch. For example, our family always get together watch “Friends,” we have a lot of fun and have a lot of conversation during the shows. Moreover, we also watch “Discovery” channel together to realize how animals behaviour and learned about Cosmo. Television gives my family a lot contribution like knowledge, communication and family reunion.

    All in all, taking into consideration of what I have argued above, it is obvious that television increases chances for communications, plays a significant role in communication to family and friends. Television is part of our live and part of our conversation media.

In recent years, television seems to be conceived as the reason of the disturbance of communication among friends and family. However, more and more people hold the opposite opinion on this issue As far as I am concerned, television has not only brought more communication topics for people, but also created more opportunities of communication to family. My reasons are illuminated as follows.

    First of all,
                Most of our topics in our conversations rely mainly on television program. Just imagine that if we live without TV, how can wesurvive? From the talking shows, a multitude of information is required and it offers the chance for us to talk about. From the soap opera, abundant feelings from the plots bestow us with the topic to share our emotion. From various documentaries, the brilliant scenes provide the opportunity for us to communicate with each other. Furthermore, if television has not give communication topics among friends and family, what else build up our communication topics among people? Only one thing we can talk about is things happened around us, but it is hard to have a long lasting conversation to people.
