Companies hiring internationals here in marketing/general management function include Danaher, Cargill, Dupont, Avaya, MeadWestvaco, Johnson&Johnson, Microsoft, Google, UTC, PepsiCo, Lexisnexis, General Mills, Eastsman Chemical, Progressive, etc.

In the past two years, Chinese students got offers from Danaher(general management rotation), Dupont (marketing rotation program), Avaya, MeadWestvaco (general management rotation program), J&J (Medical device in China), LexisNexis (leadership program), Eastsman (marketing manager). Most internationals interested in marketing are getting jobs in general management roles or marketing strategy roles in those multinational companies who have China business. Brand management is very hard to get given the culture difference.

Dido, it's much easier for someone with sales/marketing background to find job in US because:

1). companies like sales/marketing background

2). ppl with sales/marketing generally perform better in interview

As of detailed function, there're basically two different paths for marketing: one is general management programs (Like Steven listed) the other is product marketing/brand management. Many consumer goods are hiring marketing positions in Darden like P&G, General Mills (and many others).

most general management rotation programs are based in the USA with a potential of getting back to your homecountry. Companies in this category include Cargill, MeadWestvaco, Danaher, Rolls Royce, UTC, etc.

Some companies hire you in the leadership program and only keep you in the US for a year or so, and then send you back. Johnson&Johnson and Dupont are in this category.

All programs that Steven mentioned, except Dupont and J&J, support you to stay in US for long term.
