答案选B但我认为选A. 虽然非倒装的情况下是没有it的，但倒装我任为应该有

没有这个规定过啊，从来not only...but also...中就不能加其他东西。GG有没倒装加it的例句？

我觉得这个题最大的问题是逻辑问题，并不是farmland gave houses and furniture，应该是 clearing forests

所以，我认为此题还是应该选A。。。

高人，A确实存在gave→GIVE，
实在不明白原句的意思gave的主语到底是谁，如果是systematic clearing of forests ，则gave→Ggive，
总觉得B改变了原意，在非限定性定语从句中，which应该指代的逗号前面最近那个词即farmland，（要不which就要改为that，孙继军讲的）但是从逻辑上讲是很合理的。
D项最贴近原句意思，我倾向D
