此題我選 E，句意最清楚，結構最平穩，不過至今的討論似乎沒人考慮。

其他選項錯誤的理由如下:

A中，them 指的是 measurements，measurements 怎麼會接動詞 understand 呢?翻成中文變成是"使測量了解"。understand 的主詞應該人，所以該句語意不通。

B中，犯的錯誤跟上選項一樣。

C中，表達目的之意，要用不定詞 to make，非用for。

D中，which 指涉不清，同時也犯了A、B的錯誤。

請大家不吝指教!

选了A； 我觉得ope和will没有关系，that scts hope 是mments的修饰语； 实际上整个的句子是measurements will enable them to...所以them也不会有修饰的歧义（不能是measurements enable measurements吧？如果是这样应该加上themselves）

C无法表达正确的意思，因为是measurements enable scts to bla bla， 而不是他们自己able to do sth

部分同意小狗的意见，但偶不同意hope和will没有关系，如果that scts hope 是mments的修饰语，那这句定从还原了就是scientist hope the measurements，这不通。 所以that scientists hope will enable them to一定是合在一齐修饰measurements的。

 

而关于them会不会有修饰的歧义的问题，小狗说得有道理，应该比较明显指向scientists...

 

现在觉得A和C都不怎么好，无法分出better来，sign...有NN来帮忙解惑吗。。。

them在这里是不会有误解的 因为定语从句的主语是measurements 这一点很清楚

scientists hope是插入语 就像I think一样　看主干的时候可以忽略不计

而C不但用for doing表目的 还改变了原意 问题比较大

不知道我说的对不对？

C似乎改变原句的意思了，and scientists hope that they will be able to…与spacecraft will orbit…平行么？意思不对，因为它们应该有个先后承接关系，而不是并列关系。

再加上for making不好。。。

虽然这么多人选择A,我还是想说出我选E得理由:
1/ 若不将后半句用逗号分开作为从句, 那么A得them有指代measurements得嫌疑
2/ 将than it ever did补出更能表达原意,否则more无对应得than (这是我得体会)
3/ for making替代原来得to表目的, 这种用法没见过,望NN举个OG得例子
4/ in order to比to冗余,这只是minor point,还是应该优先考虑结构和逻辑含义.
所以选勒E,
