答案是A，我想问如果E的后半部分与A一样是不是也可以？ONE是必须的吗？

1、papers为什么是单数呢？part和percentage我认为要根据后面的名词的情况来判断，如果是可数名词parts用复数，如果是不可数名词用单数。这里a strong defence不影响papers的单复数属性，例如：中国人民, a great wall..., are ....

2、这题真的问过很多遍了，你可以看看以前的帖子，挺有帮助的。例如：I am a student and he a teacher.

3、B错在begining ... for ，begin这个动作持续了100年；D错在during..., a period beginning ，这在逻辑意思上是说，在某个时间段，某一个PERIOD正在开始，同原来句子想表达的意思是不符的。

4、类似2，省略，这是GMAT中常见的省略方式，可以熟悉这样的表达，在BE动词并列的时候可以使用

5、significance是不可数名词，为什么要加A呢？

6、严格地说是要加ONE的，否则会有修饰句子主语或就近修饰applications的歧义，加了ONE指代比较明确。

7、这题也问了很多遍了。这里LESS是作为名词出现的，emit less of....，中LESS并不是形容词，所以是不一样的用法，而 fewer 不能做名词。

8、这题主要是名词词组并列的避免意思歧义。A、B的water 和 resources是重叠的内容，D变成了水的问题，而不是水的管理问题，E，including water，including水的什么？意思含糊。

9、首先D采用了同位语的简洁方式。E改变成了定语从句，显然不如D简洁。其次，E使用了限定性定语从句，用WHICH连接在GMAT中是不优的方式，THAT比较好，WHICH多连接非限定性定语从句。至于MAKE STH AS STH和MAKE STH STH我认为都可以，前者出现的较多，在GMAT中。

建议还是可以看看以前的讨论内容，每道题都由各路XDJM提出了观点，挺好的，大部分都是好帖子，甚至可以总结一下。另外，最好每贴1-2题比较好，好查阅。
以上仅为个人意见，供参考。

我认为第9题应是make sth sth 的用法, 即 make his letters  the rival of, as a group 其实是插入语.

就算不SURE PAPERS的形式，也完全可以用排除法将其他选项排除，C、D、E明显是时态和AS的用法不妥。A中的as......as well，没有这样的用法。
