11 Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Universities should give the same amount of money to their students’ sports activities as they give to their university libraries. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.
Some universities are often required to put more money on their sports facilities, as well as that on their libraries. It seems reasonable; but I hold the opinion that libraries should have the priority to receive limited money than sports facilities. It is true that sports activities play a important role in students' daily life, universities however do not have to put the same amount of money on it, for purpose of keeping it at the same level as library systems. Expensive sports instruments are not compulsory for students' healthy life style. Traditional sport activities including running and playing ball games are already quite helpful. Unlike the former, library systems require a lot to update magazines and new books, to pay for librarians, and to refresh computer facilities. Also, universities are not the only place for students to have sports practice, while libraries are places benefit not only on-campus students, but also social people. There are a lot of people choosing to come to university libraries for independent study, materials searching, and other purposes. From the whole society's aspect, it is not necessary to have the sport facilities at the same level as the library facilities in universities. What's more, although sports practice is important to everyone, academic achievement is the main purpose of students. Library is one of the best factors that contribute to it. Taking into account of these factors, we could safely reach a conclusion that that the same amount of money should be given to university sports facilities as the university libraries is groundless. I suggest that under limited money, university libraries should have the priority to receive them. 这个topic也算比较贴近在校生活。。。有什么意见可以交流~ 谢谢
