1.一个是，既然是agreed，那应该用was还是is，

首先agreed 的时态已经在下面两处体现出来了，对于还没有出现的more research用was是不合适的

Researchers agreed that the study of new treatments for heart attack patients was extremely important but more research was needed to determine that balloon angioplasty preceded with ultrasound was or was not any better for heart attack patients than the balloon procedure by itself.

2.是than 后的is需要补出来吗，前面有is和for，不会造成歧义吗？

不会歧异。因为for+人 ；than 如果歧异的话后面的东西应该和人一致，显然不一致，也没划线，不考虑了：）另外by onself是个标志，很难造成歧异

   is any better for heart attack patients than
  the balloon procedure by itself.

看过前人的一篇帖子，也是分析这道题目的，当时认为是b

因为whether or not 的目的是为了简洁，仍然可以理解，而is的缺省就会造成歧义，酱紫

我也同意这样分析

经过再三观察之后,偶发现,怎么能选C呢.agree that...but that...逻辑意思是同意...而不同意...

但是原文的more research was needed for ...是在agree范围之内的.就矛盾了.

但是怎么看B也错误太多.

朋友们帮忙啊.

是,我没记得清楚.这里是不同主语的比较,不补出系动词是会有歧义.

这题选C应该不会有歧义。

因为for heart patient什么的。。。如果than后面一定要制造歧义。应该是补 than for xxx itself
