请教金融工程offer选择?

我LD今年申请几个学校的Master of FE program, 现在拿到了CMU, Columbia的ad,

想请教一下, 哪个比较合适? 她是计算机背景.

cmu是一年半时间, 暑假可以找intern; columbia一年, 所以学费就便宜2W刀了;

另外申请的是cmu在nyc的program.

columbia是financial engineering还是mathematics of finance?

前者的话肯定columbia好，后者我偏向cmu

columbia申的是financial engineering, cmu是computational finance.

我LD主要怕哥大一年的program会适应不了,毕竟不是数学或者金融背景的.

你说更cmu fit因为计算机背景?

那俩学校出来找工作方向或者前景有区别么?

computer性质的工作，一般有可能去实现model吧，顶级投行较多。既然这样cmu在计算机领域的优势大于columbia。

但是俺在坛子上看到哥大的FE排名好像比cmu要高一些? 它什么方面要强一些?

课程设置更综合全面一点，带入运筹学更多点可能。没细研究，看排名会死人的，适合自己最重要。当然排名问题是差得不多，差太多了么，呵呵我说你LD也不会听得

当然，我个人意见，仅供参考而已

There are tons of discussions. It seems that CMU is advantaged to Columbia in terms of job perspective and recogniation in the quant-finance industry.

Also, you got to consider the price tag of the education (90k for CMU and 55k for Clumbia), the quality of classes (I don't prefer the tele conference classes at the NYC campus), But I like the CMU curriculum more.

Anyway, it's a tought call. However, it won't go wrong with either.
