There are tons of discussions. It seems that CMU is advantaged to Columbia in terms of job perspective and recogniation in the quant-finance industry.
Also, you got to consider the price tag of the education (90k for CMU and 55k for Clumbia), the quality of classes (I don't prefer the tele conference classes at the NYC campus), But I like the CMU curriculum more.
Anyway, it's a tought call. However, it won't go wrong with either.
